SUBMISSION FOR EUROVISION 2008 LOGO CONTEST

work:

100x70:

OPEN YOUR MIND - brief explication

This logo symbolizes openness. Because of it’s nature it tells several stories which are interconnected.
In it’s foundation it represents structure of senses (standard five, sixth sense and the center which unites all of them) opened for full experience of the Eurovision. Beside perception of the sound and the picture such an event can be enjoyed through other senses, too - “with ones whole being”.
The base of this pictogram is an open circle which emphases relation between two letters. First, letter E – which we can also perceive as Cyrillic letter S with central deltoid who is the center of the logo and is derived from motives of Zlatibor, Pirot (Serbia) and illustrated in the contemporary way.
Other elements of the sing are even more simplified, minimized to certain basic forms, guided by more modern approach in the realization of this logo.
In third variant we can look at him as a moon which observes and stands for emotions, presence, and for Eurovision’s nights that shall take place in Belgrade.
As a following elements of the logo existed square with slogan - OPEN YOUR MIND, and elements which represent opening, absorbing, broadcasting, radiance. They support an idea of this logo and can be used where necessary (some uses of this combination are revealed in the bigger formats (100x70)).
This logo is built from the parts and has great possibilities to be animated.

Hi!

This is great! I`m from Serbia and I`m very disapointed in RTS and the choice of logo! It is awfull!!

I`m a designer too and I just can say - your logo is great, our official logo sucks!
